Folks call this part of NW Florida LA. As in Lower Alabama. The old timers still hold it against the GOP for Lincoln freeing the slaves.

My county is mostly democratic as far as registration goes, but vote GOP in state wide elections. When we went through Bush V. Gore, a New York paper used that as evidence of voter fraud. lol. No, it's just that if you want to vote in your local elections, you have to be a Democrat.
So, Democrat for local elections. LOL I'll bet not the Pelosi kind though.
I wasn't kidding about the old timers holding it against the GOP for freeing the slaves. The two parties changed sides after the Civil Rights stuff in the 60's. The conservatives used to all be Democrats and the liberals were all Republicans. It didn't finish changing until Aunt Ronnie made his announcement from Philadelphia MS. We are just slower to change than most.
