Well I have been posting and asking questions regarding my "simple" aerogarden grow(no substitute nutes, no extra lights, no co2, no oscillating fan, no airstones, not even a ph meter) and now I can finally post a few pics. Here they are at 4 weeks old and on day 5 of 12/12. Here is a close up of the closet they are in too.
Please let me know what you guys think.
I did this just to see what kind of potential the aerogarden has.
This also my first grow.
Next grow I will be using:
advanced nutrients medical nutes/ 2 additional full spectrum grow lights/ a sugar yeast co2 solution delivery setup/ a pump with airstones for the resevoir/ and a fan for stem strengthening/ and of course ph would be monitored closely.
Let me know your opinion.Oh and the bottom pic is a nice cone joint we blazed.:blsmoke:

Hello everyone, just updating the aerogarden "simple grow".
So far everything has been pretty good, their hasn't been any real problems other than "nute burn" so, reinforcing what teknique70, aerogrow and others have stated, the nutes supplied by the aerogarden company are too strong or perhaps not overall healthy for the plants. So, per their recommendation I have been giving only one nute tablet at a time. I have also been refilling the resevoir with bottled spring water. As of right now the plants are drinking 20 oz's of water a day.
Unfortunately I had to remove two plants today, they were not growing at all, so to avoid a root problem, they had to go.
Out of the three remaining plants, two are very healthy and are growing like, well, a weed! lol The third smaller one is growing well but not as fast as the other two. I think the largest plant may be a male or (dammit) a hermi. It has both pollen sacs and what now looks like the female "hairs" as well. Seeing as this is my first grow, I am learning during of course, but here is a question, the plant that is either hermie or male has a collection of both the hairs and pollen sacs heavily at the very top of the plant where the new plant material grows, i'm assuming that this is obviously where the main cola developes. The pictures are a little hard to make out but it is the best I can do with this camera.
Let me know hat you guys and gals think. Your invaluable experience is much appreciated.

Here is some info about the nutes.

The actual composition of the nutes, according to the "gourmet herb" seed kit are:(page 31 in the Gourmet Herb seed kit manual)
" What is in the nutrient tablets?"
Aerogarden nutrient tablets consist mainly of mineral salts. These provide the 13 micro and macro nutrients that all plants require, in just the right proportions for your herb plants.
The tablets also contain:
  • Seaweed for a boost of 70 micro nutrients and trace elements.
  • A buffer so you can use tap water for your plants.
  • A binder to hold the tablet together
" Are the nutrients organic?"
The Aerogarden nutrient tablets are organic, according to current AAPFCO (American Association of Plant Food Control Officials) standards.

Hey, I too am trying a simple aerogarden grow. I started one week ago on 7/26 with 7 bag seeds, and now have 4 sprouts. I only put in one nute tab when I started, but the little leaves on 2 of the seedlings are burning a bit. I am wondering if the fact that I am on a well makes a difference. The Aerogarden instructions say not to use well water, but I figured I would try it anyway since I didn't have any bottled water. I am only growing for personal use, so I only need like an 1.5 oz or so per grow. I am hoping I can get at least one female to survive to harvest.

WOW! so wait let me make sure im understanding this correctly. this is all with JUST what is supplied with the aerogarden? no changes?!

do you think potentially youll be able to do it all like that?

other than having to extend the light height once they (the plants) get to certain height?

im impressed KUDOS!
