The Good, the bad and the ugly

Okay, got a question. Wanted to know if anyones ever done this before. I start my plants indoors usually around the start of march for transplant outdoors when the last frost is over. How much stress would I put on my plants if i was to put them into 12/12 to show sex before I transplant them outdoors. Will it stunt growth alot? I just don't want to waste time and resources on males. Anyone ever try this?

People do that all the time, slows them down when you go back to veg but you have a headstart by begining in March.
