The Great Wide North (Extreme Guerilla 2010)

So the preparations for the journey have begun. A lot of tough years have me facing some very tough circumstances. The bills keep piling up and my hours keep getting cut each week. So much for following (the plan) The sole mission of this project is to produce a safety net which will keep me from sleeping under a bridge and my car on the road. Hopefully next fall I can take care of my bills and finish my education. Allright, enough small talk lets get down to brass tacks.

The Location

For this project I will refer to the locations as (Up North) which encompasses MN, WI, and parts of MI. The climate is cold so my strains have to be ready for the quick winter frosts. Where I live now is a poor location for a serious guerilla operation. It is mostly suburbs between mainly urban areas. The local parks and woods are small and I feel an operation would be likely be detected. The regions I'm planning on are lightly visited and contain vasts tracks of land as well as numerous lakes and streams. I'm operating on the assumption that people don't like to get their feet wet, and standing water is heaven to mosquitos. This would also come into play later in the season when hunters may be present, I need to research this further. I could access remote locations by canoe, silently, in complete darkness with night vision.

The Strains

I was leaning towards White Widow, from what I have read it is a good strain for colder northern climates. I have a collection of Trainwreck seeds which could save me $100 bucks in seed, if Trainwreck can handle that climate.

The Plan

Obviously since my situation is difficult my amount of indoor possibilities is very very limited. Like I said, facing homelessness is a serious problem. Most of the cloning, etc. will most likely have to take place outside.

I need to obtain a clone to put in the ground by at least May 15 or be in a position to plant it in its special spot. Once this is completed I will take extra special care of this soon to be mother while it produces the necessary clones. My ultimate plant goal is about 60-100 total for the season.

Once the clone mother is mature she will produce the remaining plants for the rest of the season. I'm thinking of clusters under 7 running off a variety of watering systems. I will need to figure out a method for applying fetilizer, which may be more difficult.

Watering

We'll be out on the water a lot, which will always put us in an advantageous position. I was thinking a multi-pronged approach and trying a few systems. One idea I had would be a buoy type system with a couple of 2 liter bottles as the flotation supports. On this would be a wooden platform of sticks and lashings. A growbag would then be placed on this platform with a cotton rope protruding through the bottom. This would passively draw in water as the coil is wound throughout the soil. The root system would then grow around it and draw in water as they needed. The whole system would be anchored in the marshy, swamp area. This would help deter rippers and is an unsual spot to look for grows.

Another method is the tried and tested resovoir system with an auto drip timer. This would use gravity to water the plant in an efficient manner. This could be used on a patch of say 5-7 plants.

Just for good measure I could even put a few plants in the trees and have funnels positioned to catch rainwater for a makeshit resovoir in the tree.

Finally

All of this will be a crazy experience. I fully intend to spend the entire summer living outdoors to complete this project. I'll have multiple locations a significant distance from one another so that we can space out our trips around a 6 day work week, with time to go exploring and enjoy ourselves in the process. This will prevent us from being pegged as suspicious with visiting a single spot constantly. We can do our hard work and then just maintain the systems every few weeks or so. I'd be living under a bridge right now anyways, so might as well be doing something to better my position. I have a utility vehicle and just need an old canoe. Think of it as a modern take on the old voyageur.

Any thoughts or words of wisdom are appreciated
