A friend gave me a clone to see what it would be like grown organic outdoors in the winter time. He has no idea what it is. When he grows it hydro inside it has some purple, but nothing like this. I vegged it inside for a few weeks and then put it outside Thanksgiving weekend. I pulled her today.

Gotta love growing in So Cal all year long.

hell yeah those nuggs soo purple they look like there almost black!!!!
 
I wonder if that is Heath's Black Rose. It looks great don't forget to touch back and tell us hoe she smoked.
 
naw doesnt look like heaths black rose, doesnt even look like dpd, it kinda resembles killing fields throughout the leaf structure and bud structure ( i had a killing field that was a purple as that), but you never know. anyway, great job.
 
Thanks for all the great comments, gang. Based on your input I've decided to grow a few more...with a purpose. I'm curious to see how the warming weather affects the purple color.

If anyone knows of available strains that smoke well with as much color, please tell me about them. Purple seems to be the "color of the month" in these parts.
 
Ok gang,

I smoked some of this purple beast today. It was totally dried...not too cured yet. The taste was good. The high was a little heavy for my liking...could've been a little late on the harvest. All in all, very good, but not great. I grow mostly OG and Bubba, so I am a little spoiled.
 
look at this for purple....i love purple weed .....looks great.... taste wierd
