The Return Of Hashberry/Lockdown

It’s been a couple of years since I’ve been active so I thought I’d start my return with a grow. I took four clones from my Hashberry/Lockdown mother on Friday 7/1/2011. This strain goes back to my very first grow in 2006. I had started some Hashberry and Lockdown from seed and about ½ way through the flower period we got hit with an ice storm. No power for 18 days and the temps dropped below freezing. The stress caused the Lockdown to sprout some balls and at harvest time I found one of the Hashberry had produced about a dozen seeds. I germinated some of the seeds and the resulting plants showed traits from both strains. I’ve been doing mother and clones off it ever since.

I’ve been extremely lucky with clones. I soak Rapid Rooters in water and slice down one side. I slice the clone at an angle, wet with water, dip in rooting powder and then fold a Rapid Rooter around the clone. Stick under a dome with weak light and a heating pad like so. I find it’s very important to keep the humidity high.

After about a week, this is what I end up with.

For soil I’m using FF Ocean Forest that I mix some water into and then I let it sit for a few hours to warm up a little. Here’s my four clones ready to go back into the cab.

I’ve got two small cabs for mothers/clones/vegging that I light up with 55w compact T5s. I use one bulb for clones and mothers and then I start vegging under two bulbs and after a week I’ll move up to three bulbs. When I’m running two or three bulbs, one is 2,700K and the rest are 6,500K.

I plan on vegging for two to three weeks and which point I’ll move three into the 400w flower cab and use the other as a mother.

It's because my mothers were getting old and root-bound so the clones weren't in great shape when I took them. They look better now than when I planted them.

The girls are doing very good. I moved them into the second veg cab and have all three bulbs going.

Here's a shot of the girls, you can see how much they've improved since I cloned them.

actually in the 2 years of research i have seen almost everyone cut the tips off of the big fan leaves off the clone right after u put it in rockwool or rapid rooter or w.e. and theirs always turn out with no yellowing and thier roots are bigger bc the more nutes were focused in the roots hope this helps

reason why i look on here fyi anyway is that a buddy of mine is giving me 5 hashberry seeds for 5$ and i was wondering since thier so cheap is the smoke bad or something since you had the strain for yrs hows it tell me the low down subed

The leaves were yellow when I took them. I've been very happy with the hashberry, nice Indica stone.

Quick update. Plants are doing very well and I should be ready to move them to the flower cab in the next week or two.

Here's the obligatory photo. :)

One of the things I love about the Hashberry strain is that they stay short and bushy when vegging under florescent light.

Yeah, I can't wait to see how they do under the 400w. That's one of the reasons I'm only going to veg for another week, I need to keep them short.

Wow those are just a bunch of colas here isn't any branch this would be ideal in my setup
