The Shit (and not in a good way this time)

I have several Mr. Nice "The Shit" plants flowering:

1600 watts HPS
RDWC
Ionic Bloom
Ionic PK Boost
450 PPM
PH 6.2

I have been growing this strain for years and it has always been a huge producer and one of my favorites. The last run I had one Shit and it grew really weird and leafy. It didn't even produce at all. Now this run seems to be doing the same thing. I'm thinking it has been around for too long (too many generations of clones), but I figured I would post some pics here in case it might be something else that I can correct.

Here is the photo that shows this the best:

Here another:

As you can, the root structure is amazing, as usual. But these used to produce big fat colas, sometimes a 1/4 pound or more per plant. I fear these are just taking up space if I can't correct what's going on.

If anyone has had this happen and has a remedy, please let me know! Thanks for looking :)

It could be the mother plant is passing issues on. Time to try a new strain.

How many years? I've had strains shit -out after a couple of runs and I have strains that I've been doing for 10+ years still going strong.

Time to try a new strain.
Yea, for sure. I don't know what to do at this point, however. Pull them, let them go for concentrates, maybe. I'm still hoping it's something fixable!

How many years?
Probably 2-3 maybe. Plus I have taking clones from clones- not from a dedicated mom. I don't know if that might have added to the problem.

It's either from genetic drift from poor genetics to begin with or you've taken cuttings from a infected plant. Does cloning seem to take longer than it did at first?

No, in fact they just explode with roots and take no time. That's what's weird, they are so healthy and strong. They tend to take over the space, which was always great when they were producing. Now it's just small bud sites that don't fill in. The genetics are top rate, or so I always thought. These were breeder packs of regular seeds from Mr. Nice...

Time to change it up then.
For sure. I dumped all my rooted Shit clones and will be going with Critical Kush and some NL crosses. I still don't understand how the same genetics gets messed up like that. I have had some that wouldn't clone after a while, but if they did, they were genetically the same as the time before.
