The Superoots Air-Pot

The holes near the top are covered.

Do you have the covered holes on the top? They prevent the water from coming out the sides.
I have been watering both top and bottom (in a tray) and have not had any problems. If I am running two pots, water one until it is full up top, then water the other. Then I pour some more in the tray.

The only "problem" I have is that the plants drink eat more, so I have to water twice a day. That is a good problem to have. (with 5 gallon hempy buckets, I watered once a day)
If you don't like watering so much, get some blumats.

Yes I know the top few holes are sealed up, but the water will shoot out of the holes just below and my catch trays dont extend out far enough to catch the water......so I end up cleaning the tent floor:( They are great pots, and they do what they say.....I also think you can downsize when using an airpot and still get the same results.....they do proces a great rootball. I only water 1 every 3 days or so.......everyday seems like alot. Here are a few pics from today. These are Nirvana Raseberry Cough (2 on the right) the others are Blackberry........the one small one in the middle is in a Air-pot......she was a runt, so I kept her cut back and smaller......still looks very heathly. These are at 4 weeks of 12/12 600w HPS, in a 4x4x6 tent. I toook the pics using my Method Seven HPS Sunglasses as a filter.....you can see how they filter out the HPS yellows, another killer product for any indoor grower.

how about TRANSPLANTING while using those pots? seems like it would be a bitch!
Transpplanting with the Air pot is a breaze.....they come flat and you wrap them around the bottom drainage plate and use these plastic screws to hold them in a round pot shape. If you want to transplant....just take out the screws and unwrap the pot from the soil. I had some pics of when I did my first grow using them, the pics showed the roots once the pot was unwraped....but I lost them in a computer crash. Anyway, I like the Airpots but I also really like the 420 grow system pots....they seem to be easier to water, use less water and you cant really overwater with the 420 pots.

I know they are a bit pricey.....but worth it. My thought was I wont loss these like I do my other sunglasses......and I must say I cant even look at the HPS without them on anymore.......... so much easier on the eyes.....plus you really see what your plants look like, and if your a read your plant kind of grower these are a must.

Thanks: Stlmatt

Is this the methodology Jorge Cervantes acknowledges you for in his book?
Yep, but like I corrected Jorge after the fact, the "roots don't turn up." He meant well.

Cheapest (and very effective) root pruning pots are by RootMaker.

BTW, there's already been an extensive thread on these pots. Someone needs to do a search before posting a redundant thread IMO.

I don't know what to tell you. I run coco and do not have a problem with water coming out the sides. I use soil outside and do not have a problem.
I water twice a day is because coco grows plants faster and bigger than soil.

I prefer the fabric air pots, I now buy mine locally for 3 bucks for a 5 gallon with handles that can go 3-4 rounds. Does the exact same thing as these for a fraction of the price. The fact that the cost to make one of these in 3-5 gallon is less then 2 dollars and they sell one for 20-30+ is enough to keep me from buying them.

"I water twice a day is because coco grows plants faster and bigger than soil.:

Not true.
I have done a side by side and coco and soil. Coco absolutely grows bigger plants faster than soil. So much so that I have added coco to all of my outdoor plants, weed or otherwise.
I would bet anyone that knows what they are doing would get the same results I did.

Obviously if you give a noob coco and an experienced grower soil, the experienced grower would probably have better plants. That is not at all what I am talking about. I am sayingall things being equal, coco will out grow bigger plants faster than soil. (I think soil produces slightly better quality. I am actually experimenting with coco and worm castings to get the best of both worlds.)

I do not care what the superoots airpots cost. They have each paid me back 100x. The fabric post are great, but in 4 years my superoots airpots cost me less than fabric pots.

The fabric pots are what, $5? If I use a fabric pot for 4 runs before tossing it, the superoots airpots become cheaper after 16 runs. (for me that would be about 4 years before the superoots airpots are cheaper than cloth pots)

I have never tried to get 4 runs out of a fabric pot.

If you are worried about cheap, I would go with freebie reusable grocery bags.
You could probably buy them in bulk for cheap.

i have used both air and smart
an i like both

wit air you must water slow and you must have a well on top a depression to hold the water and dispurse slowly

both will increase yield

air pots are great, only down side is if you are hand watering you'll be watering every other day. Also,I would get big airpots. Like 5 gallon if you are vegging for a few weeks.
i made the mistake of getting like 10L airpots which is like 2.5 gallons. Those small ass pots screwed me !

I recently purchsed some amazing pots made my the way we grow and will be using them for the firt time in a few weeks when I transplant. These pots have a self mulching system which helps the plant grow in the top 20% where light usually penetrates and roots dont grow. Ive seen a few people who have used those air pots and they love em from what I read. Not sure you can go wrong with em
