The truth about prohibition

Here is n article from the New York Times about the success of prohibition. I came to the same conclusionin college in '73 when I researched the issue myself. I have since never used the failure of prohibition as an argument point in a discussion on legalization.

Actually, Prohibition Was a Success - New York Times < I made the link hot. Success is a subjective idea for the most part. I did not realize it was legal to make a small amount of booze for yourself and drink it. That makes the law seem more sane to me at least. That is all I want for pot, to grow it and use for it for myself.

They succeeded in making criminals and useless law enforcement lots of money. They succeeded in poisoning many people due to laws forcing things underground.
