So it’s a given that I’m growing weed, outdoor, and it’s another that I have already been robbed this year. I grow legally in my state, excluding the fact that my plants aren’t in a confined area other than the fence that separates my neighbors’ property.

I know the person who stole my plants. He brags about how big they are. I know where he has them, the address, the owner and people who live there. And I’ve been told he was lurking my street last night.

Should I enclose the grow more than my property and call the cops? I’m at a loss. I don’t want to do anything rash or stupid, but I should do something. I’m more concerned about future plants being taken than the ones that were already stolen. These people that I’m dealing with are very aggressive, competitive, and indulgent - reason and persuasion have no leverage.

Thanks for your time and consideration. I ask for and appreciate any advice anyone might have.

Nothing physical between you and the suspect. Trust me. 4 convictions is proof. No matter what started it or who has the rights. When they end up in the emergency room you’re the bad guy until proven differently if you can prove it. It needs to happen while you’re not present. And trail cameras are a real asset in catching them. Legal weed theft can be charged. Property theft is property theft. Beat his ass somewhere hidden in the next county.

I’ll say. The one time everything was dismissed it was 6 months after the fact. 2 hearings in addition to the initial arraignment. Then nobody apologizes or pays your lawyer. You’re just supposed to be eternally grateful they dropped it.

In fact if you nail the joint get rid of them the minute you can. Say nothing. Then if the state decides to take it up any lawyer can ask for the evidence. Meaning the offending instrument. No nail boards found? Oh well it’s your word against there’s and that’s when the DA gives up.

Ya I know, you're right. Theft pisses me off pretty bad, even if it's not me, lol.

Cops will often make an arrest knowing the case is weak & has a good chance of being dropped , but they aren't spending money out of their pockets to press a weak case but you on the other hand either sit in jail or post bail , then if you have any assets they can even bill you for a public defender who just happens to get their check from the same source as the district attorney

It’s America can’t be afraid or a victim on your own land . People die everyday for far less than protecting what’s there’s . Question is what’s in your heart and where is your line in the sand . Little telling that its an open forum question ,respectfully.

I would never call the cops, well maybe on a child abuse but that's it, cops are for kids, women and the elderly, I would go meet buddy with a solid Louisville Slugger, no knife no gun you dont wanna do time over a few plants, give em a few swings in the shoulder not enough to break anything but hard enough to let him know you're not fucking around, unless of course this is a minor were talking about in which case you cant do shit, you're shit outta luck move your plants
