Things worth learning?

I've realized lately that I spend a lot of time on the internet, like most people.
Most of that time I'm sat refreshing pages and google-ing "I'm bored"
This is a complete waste of time and it's not productive.

I like learning.

I want to learn things that I will benefit from in day to day life, expand my knowledge and introduce myself to new subjects.

What subject/s are good to pick up and why?

Can anyone suggest a language worth learning?

I'm not looking for a craft/hobby where there is a physical object at the end of it as (currently) there's not enough space for me to do so.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

go to stumbleupon.com and pick topics that interest you. maybe not always the most educational of information but better than random googling

Spanish is always a useful language to learn, it's used by alot of people. Or anything from the east.
What to learn about depends on what interests you. Just read into something that interested you as a child.
Cheers Zeplike, I'll try stumbleupon, sounds smart.

Brother man ...
I am not sure how you surf the web but let me give you some links that keep me occupied.
All these are sub-directories from a great internet aggregator site called reddit.com.

If you would like to learn something new and interesting everyday.

I Want to learn sub directory

Today I learned sub directory

You should know sub directory

I AM sub directory (Learn about people that are different than you)

Trees sub directory (Pot smoking community)

Also, feel free to look around reddit.com as there is many other interesting things that might amuse your brain.
NOTE, as you surf this webpage you will have links to articles submitted by the users ....BUT .... do click the comments .... just to see what others think about the particulars. That is my favorite function of this website as I find
other peoples take on things the most entertaining.
You do not have to register to read ... but if you would like to post and contribute, it takes seconds.

Hope this helps.
And if you find something exciting, or learn something interesting .... do share.
Cheers

I would recommend you start with a bit of journaling-- it can help you connect with what matters to you. Write 3 pages (~750 words) each day; no rules, except you must finish the 750 words. If you don't have anything to write, write "I don't have anything to write." Give it 2 weeks and I would bet you will discover something worth investing your time.

I second Spanish as a language, but it might not be exciting to learn a language unless there is a goal associated with it (eg. travel).

wikipedia can teach you a lot about sciences . . . . . check out some physics or chemistry on wikipedia . . . .

I just end up looking up some chemical . . . then I just keep clicking the wiki-links and end up on a really cool concept 10 pages later.

I do the same thing with history, I look up a subject, then click something I'm interested to know more anout on that page and continue doing the same, I've spent hours just reading on there I really enjoy it

yep, fuck anyone who says wikipedia isn't legit. . . . . it's ridiculously obvious when the information isn't legit . . . plus it's highly regulated so I think people need to stfu about wikipedia not being legit . . . . . . . you can learn a shitload from it.
