Well i think i just lost my first grow here, i was on a 240gpm submersible pump with the sprinkler heads.. i started it about a month ago before i knew what i know now and now im just stuck waiting on new parts to arrive to setup my next system! Anyways algae got way out of control because i had the res in the same .. secret jardin room and i was puttin 2 litres of ice in there to get the temp down but it just wouldnt get below like 80 degrees. I had all the holes in it closed to light and the top was on.

Anyhow now the pump is only powering like 1 sprinkler (the first sprinkler in the series) so im pretty sure the pump is probably clogged, whats the chances of the fresh water cleaning the pump out.. any good ways to do that?

Also whats the advantage to having like a 50gal rez? just seems like more nutes for 1 and also a lot more shit to clean. currently i have about a 7gal res.

Get up and clean it out , take the pump apart and disinfect it and everything else and dont be alarmed if the lines are plugged up too .

The lines seem not tooo.. bad, i took it apart and blew through it and all the heads spun quite well. But yah, okay. sounds good.
What would you use as a disinfectant. I think you're right about the piping ill probably have to rebuild it after this. which is okay i got big plans for the next build, hopefully these plants can make it 2-3 days.

Yep we're good, i dropped down to 2 sprinklers and cleaned them out really good. There is some slime on the roots of 1 plant.. not sure what to do about it. Throwing 2 litres of ice in there now to try and chill the water a bit more.

hydrogen peroxide will help with the slime but not a lot of slime.. get some pondzeme or i found that ick remover for fish woks on the root slime its like a parasite not a slime..

If your having that much of an issue why not move to a different hydro system? Rockwool slabs and cubes are a no brainer, no pumps, tubes, timers, etc. Just feed once a day and sit back and watch them thrive.
