If its on a timer thats the place I always check first. I have blamed ballasts and bulbs before only to find out the timer was the problem.

well he can fix it or make his move on the hid, if the the light no good to him? i fixed my t5 for $45 for a ballest from lowes

I wish it was just a timer issue, but unfortunately I've got two lights hooked up to that timer and one works and the other doesn't. Guess I need to replace the whole light, darn.
