Thinking of changing my nutrient line.....What should I switch to?

Hello all,

I'm still three weeks out from harvest and i've been doing pretty good with my current nute line. However, I feel it is time to up the ante... I want to get the most out of my plants and I'm thinking a switch needs to happen. But to what brand of nutes?

Specifically I have been using:
Floragro
Flormicro
Florabloom
Superfloralicious plus
liquid kool bloom
botanicare cal mag
vegan plant booster

2 x 1000w mh
1 x 1000w hpw
ebb n flo
15 ladies in 1gal smart pots rokwol cubes with hydroton pebbles

Here is what my garden looks like 3 weeks out:

A main question I have is: what makes these expensive lines of food so much more expensive? What are the ingredients I should be looking for and what is worth the money?

Any suggestions as to "better," but not necessarily more expensive lines of food, would be appreciated. Specific reasons why they are considered better would also be appreciated.

one last thing. One nug has this lil banana looking thing poking out the top. Anyone know what this is: weird.jpg The lil yellow thing top right of this nug...

Thanks

holy shit the banana is probably a hermie! take care not to pollinate the grow!
i switched to using ferts in parts, like pros. seperate chemicals that i bought to make a hydro formula, but it's not the easiest route, just the most pro least expensive. i can add whatever i want without adding other components. i got calcium nitrate, potassium nitrate, mono-potassium phosphate, Magnesium sulfate, and trace element mix

I am switching first of the year from General Hydroponic to Canna's line

I have been using some of their additives like Rhizotonic during veg and Boost during Flower, my plants love it.

General Hydroponics has an organic line that is much more broken down if you like that. It's called General Organics. I personally would not bother with a line broken down like that though. They tend to be really expensive and no fun to control. I've never needed more or less of anything trace or micro than my current line already supplies in the bottle. I use the Sensi line from AN. I won't be switching for a while.

humboldt nutrients have my vote. ive used almost all there products and they have a GRREEAT organic line and an even better premiium series (master A&B). all have provided me with PROPER results.

Dyna Gro is on my list to try next as well, as I've heard they're a really good complete
line of nutes offering many extra minerals that aren't in some base lines.

COz you use the exact same nutrient recipe as me... Stay with it my plants loved it. i also want to change nutrient lines but the recipe you and I both use for growing has done wonders for my plants..

Switched from GH to Botanicare and love em. Plants seem to take more before showing burn, or atleast a bigger buffer zone. With GH I could cause burn with just a bit off on the ppm, seems like Botanicare can go 100s off and still be fine. I love em.

I second that, and I'm a commercial grower..........

How about this...

Floramicro
Florabloom

0-8-16 ml/gal

Nothing more, nothing less.

All that other stuff is nonsense, but the bottles have really bright pretty colors.

Peace

hard one for me right now. I'm using Adv.Nutes conn. line ..... but will need to stop soon unless they get their act together. ODA put a stop order on several lines of nutes due to random testing showing high levels of metals and no testing certifications from the companies on the products. http://www.oregon.gov/ODA/PEST/stopsales.shtml once one agency does it, it will spread across other states.

By the way, could you clarify what day of flowering those plants are from? You said 3 weeks out, I assume that means week 5 of flowering or week 6. If however that's 3 weeks into it, keep doing what your doing my nugs dont look like that 3 weeks in =) =)

sigh, i had the reverse issue. Got a gallon each of botanicare grow/bloom/liquid karma, can't stand the stuff. Even with a recirculating pump it always seems to settle down to the bottom of my reservoir and not mix up. Lots of sediment buildup too.

GH 3 part for me until i run through these bottles, then I'm gonna give Dyna a go.

Original Poster: I wouldn't switch nutes on your ladies 3 weeks before harvest. Let em finish out with what they are used too and experiment on the next batch.

I recommend you give DYNA_GRO a shot it eas to use 1 part bloom 1 part grow. I plan to add a couple additives this time around( AN's big bud, bud candy and maybe even voodoo juice or synsizym). either way D-G will make you happy
