This is my somewhat stealth setup

IM getting ready to plant some seedsman Northern lights as soon as they come in the mail and this is what they will b grown in.

This is 3ft tall 2ft wide 1.6ft deep. I'm running a 150 HPS, it has a fan blowing air out with a filter i made attached to it, and i also have another fan at the back of the the box near the top you cant realy see it in the pic but its there. Right now the box is running at 85 degrees in my air conditioned room.I wana try to get it cooler i was thinkinkin about covering the bottom of the light with a sheet of plexy glass and somehow get a housing from a hole i will cut on the side of the light fixture connecting to the exhaust fan so the heat blows out..would it work? or should i not mess with it. I also will be using tiger bloom 2-8-4..i got it free so its not a big deal if i have to buy something else.advice please thanks

i would not tamper with the lamp, unless you do not care about the warrenty.

You said you have an intake fan on the top right?

The intake should be at the bottom of the box to have best results in air flow. ( might help with tempature )

well keep your ballest as far away from your box as you can get it produces alot of heat have you fan blowing in at the bottom and your outake fan at the top... do this because heat rasies try to get the heat and old air out as fast as you can

you need the air to be blowing out of the box at the top and have air blowing in at the bottom... because heat goes to the top

that should work, as long as it can breath well

do you have a Temperature & Humidity Gauge ? Its not needed, but nice to have

ya got the seeds but may have to wait till i move out to go to college which will be in 2 months =(

but good news i put the fan near the bottom and the box got 3 degrees cooler now 83 degrees! and i think i may run my box at night because the temp goes down to 80.i also have some texas rose seeds( which look fairly like a marijuana plant) and may grow them with the Northern lights so the parents dont know or just wait till i move haven't decided

Looks like you're gonna flower in there? When you were over on my thread you will notice a few things. One is that a 4" exhaust fan was fine with my 250mh. Once I added even a basic open/close plastic vent my temps hit 95. Removed the vents and I'm a stead 85 or lower. Plants seem happy.

I'm only going to veg mothers in mine so I will only be running 18/6 light. My dark period will be at night so I have no concerns over light penetratation.

Since you are going to flower in there you really need to make sure that when you are at 12hrs of dark that it is in fact dark. Make sure you are all sealed up.

Looks good though. I light the filter

Personally, I would buy a $10-15 gallon of semi gloss paint and put a few coats on there. You will get much more reflection and get the benefits of a sealant. One day you will spill, a few coats of semi gloss on wood is pretty much water tight for a while.

thanks man! ya i think i may change the light setup and go with a cooltube with a fan at the end of it to bring down the temp.ya i will have to veg and flower in there but i think itll work.

I've actually got the exact same box, same light, except my ballast is separate, and same seeds coming tomorrow. A grow off anyone? Anyway, go get yourself a glass sheet 14x12" or something similar, and hold it up with some L brackets. They're for keeping cabinets together but just use them to hold the glass up. Also I'd swap that reynolds wrap or whatever out and paint the entire inside gloss white.

well i had to change my lightdesighn and i will be using a cool tube set up. Im bidded on a bake around and when im all done with the build ill post some new pics!

This is the new set up its running at 80 yes! tell me what you think yo!
