Thoughts on newbie setup

Hoping to get some comments on a planned set up for a new grow. Been wanting to do this for years and finally decided to take the plunge.

I’m planning on starting with the healthiest 2 plants out of some seedlings.

The setup would be a DIY ebb and flow:
2 3 gallon buckets with hydroton
3x3 tent
1200 watt lcd bestva light (ok it’s cheap but I want to see if I can do this before investing $$$$)
190cfm fan with filter
2 additional clip fans high and low

Will be using a separate submersible pump for each bucket 90gpm

I was thinking of using a couple of smaller reservoirs maybe 8 gallon with the thinking that it would allow me to adjust nutes separately for each plant and longer term grow different strains in the same tent with a reservoir for each strain. Not sure if that makes any sense or if it’s worth the hassle of possible ph instability. It does make the reservoirs easier to pull out to clean.

Was going to place the buckets on what amounts to a wire shelf over the reservoir which would let me pull the tubing and move plants around.

Using general hydroponics nutes (floragrow etc)
Have tds and ph meters
A hygrometer

Sprouting with rapid rooters

Does this seem reasonable? Anything scream stupid?

I'd recommend useing soil if it's your first grow much more forgiving man.. once you start you won't stop great hobbie.

I like living on the edge :)
But appreciate the advice. Anything in particular that you think I am likely to mess up? I’ve done enough reading to know temp, ph, humidity, going nuts on nutes are common pitfalls.

Ph and ppm are the biggest tools you will need for hydro don't cheap out or buy multiple cheaper units .. That's the probably the best advice I can give ..

That’s good to hear. It was one place I didn’t cheap out along with nutrients and seeds. I did get a Bluetooth hygrometer because I’m lazy and because my wife will kill me if I’m getting up every 10 minutes to check.

Thanks again
