Thoughts on small underground grow.

Well its time for me to setup another grow area, seeing that I have moved. I was used to my indoor grow using a 4x4 closet and a 600w hps. The only thing now is that the house I'm in now doesn't have that same closet space. I was wondering about possibly setting up a small underground grow room. Nothing too big, and as basic as possible. I've determined that I'll need a space that's about 7-8 feet long, 5 feet wide, and 5 feet deep. As far as my grow setup inside the grow space, I'll be keeping it very close and similar to how I had it setup in my previous indoor grow. However, there are a few concerns I have that I'd love opinions on.

-Its about to start getting colder here, what would be the most efficient way of keeping a good temp? (insulation, heaters, etc.)
-Ventilation. I still need this to be as stealth as possible with as little noise as possible, and keep the humidity levels and temps good.
-Also I feel that I'll only have enough time here to finish one full cycle. Would treated lumber wrapped in black plastic tarp hold up for the time necessary to complete one full cycle?

I'm sure there are many other factors that I'm not putting into consideration. I'm just not too familiar with these types of setups. I have done my research, but all the help I can find is for extremely large grow ops. Mine is nowhere near the scale as most of these underground/bunker style grow rooms. Any help and criticism would be much appreciated.

1. usually the problem is heat, i wouldnt worry about if its getting ''to cold'' there. worst come to worst you can always a put a small heater inside the room and it will keep it mroe than enough cool, in my 15 years doign this ive enver had to worry about to cold of temps inside...its just rarley if ever a problem

-Ventilation. I still need this to be as stealth as possible with as little noise as possible, and keep the humidity levels and temps good.

2. this is where the 'to cold' comes in. if its cool enough outside then you wont need to worry about the temps, it will stay cool all day long and at night you could run a heater if u had to, the only problem i forsee is if your building a 1 room underground u really have nowhere to vent to, which means temps could get high, but again, if its cold enough outside, this will not be a problem, heat is always the enemy, look at coldness as a friend really

Also I feel that I'll only have enough time here to finish one full cycle. Would treated lumber wrapped in black plastic tarp hold up for the time necessary to complete one full cycle?

3. if your only going one cycle, im pretty sure pvc piping would hold, let along wood, u dont need to go through all this crazy shit if your just growing there one time, build a metal pvc type tent or something of the sort, unless im confused in what your talkign about

if your talking about using would to sort of 'reinforce' the underground to hold up the roof, then again yes, it would easily last the 4 or 5 monthes (6 max ) that you need to use

yea expensive labor intensive but if you really want to prolly be best to get a storm shelter installed 5 ft down is a constant temp usually around 46-56 you could always rent a trencher and lay pvc vent too a distant location so you don't have suspiciouse heat and smells comming out maybe look into a sistern tank or something

- it might get really humid in there.. from the bare uncoverd earth and watering the plants
- keep plants pots off the ground/dirt ground will suck the heat right out of the pots and root systems...
- and like tussel said while ur digging u may as well dig a trench for ur venting
... i want to know how are u goign to water these things lol.... manually u might be seen by neighbours or any passer-by... with a watering system if the tank is outside may freeze... maybe u can build like a crawl space underneath ur plants for a tank/resevoir and have a pvc tube running up with a cap and u just dump ur water and nutes threw there without opening anythign up and letting heat escape.... if u find the water getting cold jsut throw a heater in the crawl space... heat rises so it will also heat ur room if needed

if u wanna go the extra yard u can run wires to ur house and run like a vidcam or webcam or sumtn so u dont even have to open up ur shit to see how plants are doing... only time u need to go in the room is to trim and harvest
