Here's the situation, about a month ago I was unloading the truck at Sonic and I cracked my hand on some protruding screws.

It hurt like hell and has continued to hurt like hell. Well it's gotten a lot worse since yesterday. I was moving some boxes and twisted my hand wrong.

Here's my question!

What should I say and shouldn't say to assure that I get some type of pain medication?

Already got the Tramadol thing covered. It's on file that I'm allergic.

Just curious what you guys come up with. What you've been through, what you did right and what you did wrong?

I say stay far away from opioids. No one likes a pill popper.
Use ibuprofen for the inflammation, weed to dull the pain.

Yea its hurting like hell. Hydro 7.5s ain't cutting it no more. Figured x-ray is inevitable.

Serious answer; I've only had a very few prescriptions for opiate based pain medications, all after surgery. I never came close to finishing any of them because they did not improve my pain and the side effects made me sick.

As someone mentioned above, I used ibuprofen and cannabis and it worked very well for me. FOR ME, under those circumstances.

I don't pretend to know about other people's pain, their conditions, severity, etc. What works for me may not work for others and I recognize that fact.

Uh, yeah. If it hurts that bad, you get the xray first, before a script of pain killers that might let you aggravate your injury?

I'd call Monday and ask if they have anything earlier cause it's hurting worse.

Docs know about how much pain you are in ...they arnt going to give you oxys for a hand injury no matter how much you whine to them. Take some edibles, sleep itoff for a cpl days and your hand should be at least halfway healed by then

oxy will be prescribed if you've used acetaminophen and nsaids with no positive effect. 5mg probably a 5 day script. if you go back, they'll give you 90 for 30. pain management is kind of a joke.
