Would you say this is a thrip? I have Lost Coast Plant Therapy to spray... Any thoughts on if it'll mend the issue. If not what might you suggest? I'm on week 2 of my 12/12 cycle. My poor babes appreciate your help.

It's partly reflection (I used flash) from the Lost Coast spray I used yesterday and the damage from the thrips. It's not powdery even though it may look so in the photo. Nice eye though. I wish I was able to take a more quality photo.

SDS makes it sound like a peppermint soap. Soaps and fats kill bugs, but bugs are bastards and don't like to die. Not convinced peppermint does much other than smell good.
So, follow the instructions and hope for the best is the best you can do I think. Hopefully it's gone in a week, I wouldn't want to drench flowers in this stuff.

Agreed, it seems to alter the hormones later in flower and that has given me a little bit of scattered seeds on my ladies before. I've never dealt with thrips before though... I'm gonna give it the full treatment and see what happens. Fingers crossed.
What led up to the discovery of the Thirp, why did you even start looking for a bug?

Damage on the leaves. Markings that were abnormal on bottom leaves. Also, while training I had noticed movement on a leaf that kinda startled me. I had dealt with mites before but nothing like that. That's when I noticed the abnormal markings. And the hunt was on. Out of curiosity, what makes you ask that question?

Youll have trouble getting them all at week 2,ive had them for 3 yrs now.I spray safers soap in veg once a week up until week 3 in flower.I think i get them all but by week 9 there back.I start all over again in veg with clones.I think there to use to my spray.Im in Canada so not much choice for sprays.

Oy, my friend...what a honest and dreadful comment. I feel for you. I seem to be working my way through the various different issues this work offers. I'll keep this spray in mind. Thanks for that. I've got my fingers crossed I can maintain using what I have. I'm working on my veg plants at the same time. Keeping the possibility of transfer from room to room in mind...even with spraying myself with alcohol in-between.

Yeah having both veg and flower rooms in one space isnt helping me any.
I thought maybe you constantly inspect your plants.
I discovered a spider mite problem on some plants by accident when using a loop to diagnose a different problem. I'm beginning to think that whenever I see any problem, even the first slightly curved leaf tip, I have to inspect with the loop.
I use FFOF and think the soil is filled with bugs.

I do attempt to keep a very close...almost strenuous eye (feeling cross eyed just thinking about it) on my plants as I'm in the room. I've dealt with mites before and so I don't want to miss anything. With curled leaves I tend to think of nutrient stuff first...but these markings were just soooo similar to something a bug might do instead of nutrient issues.
I use Mother Earth 70/30 Coco-Perlite mix. I'm pretty loyal to the brand and don't believe they have any infestations but...you never know. I don't know where these new thrips came from but I was getting clones from an outside course for a while and that could very well be the answer. I think I'd like to attempt starting from seeds soon. Sooo much to think about with all this.

Just make sure to get a good spray top and bottom of leaves as the bottoms and veins is where they hide. I defoliated before to make less work for myself as i had a bushy garden.
I used a spray bottle with a rotational head
Be swift as they have an underground phase and hard to eradicate at that point for a perpetual op

Citric acid which is in Lost Coast Plant Therapy. I would mix my own. I don't like spraying oils on plants in flower. And that stuff is 38% soybean oil. It's fine for veg and I'm not saying it doesn't work. It also depends the extent of flowering. Just a few pistils is one thing but if it's clusters then I wouldn't spray any oil based product.
What did you do to kill the spider mites? I need to address that ASAP.
Here are a couple of the bad leaf pics. I inspected them closely and they did have spider mites on them. The good leaves don't have any. And another thing I noticed the other day was a wet spot on a leaf. I immediately inspected it and that's when I noticed the mites.
I just got down topping and trimming these 6 plants.

Oooo, nice tip. Thanks. I'll look into mixing my own for later in flowering, just in case. Currently I'm on on day 2 of week 2 of the 12/12 cycle. So the pistols are just now starting to form. I think any further in and I'll attempt something else.

I bought a small O-Zone machine for situations like mites...I "mite" have to use it again after this cycle if I'm unable to get these creepy crawlers under control. But you can't use that on live plants-so for during the cycle I used the Lost Coast Plant Therapy actually. I made it a tad stronger than it calls for and sprayed every day for a good week. Thing about mites is that the eggs hatch like every three days-so finishing out a full spray cycle seems to be incredibly important. I also alternated sprays because I didn't want to run the chance of them becoming immune to it. My other spray option was Mighty Wash. I did also try the hydrogen peroxide route...but that was a last resort before harvesting that I will never do again...ever. I don't have any tips for when it's later in the 12/12 cycle though...I'm still learning how to treat for things at that point myself.
Those are some pretty cool photos... I dig the training and topping style. The dotted damage definitely reminds me of mites.
I'm interested in the way your plants are topped and trained. It's an even canopy. Do you have any fully flowered pictures to give reference of how they turn out with this topping method? I'm still playing around with mine and they always end up being HUGE.
Green Cure was another spray that I used for the mites.
