Tips for drying your fan leaves and trim?

Hi all,

I am coming to the end of my first grow and looking to dry my fan leaves and trim for a few weeks, then I will either make some butter or some hash. I dont have alot (2 plants worth) so maybe hash is out of the question.

I have a good hanging cabinet for my buds, but I was wondering what the best method is to dry the fan leaves and trim once they are removed from the buds before hanging. Do you out them on some sort of rack at the base of the cabinet to maximise airflow or is there another way. Any tips would be greatly apprieciated.

I just put them in a paper bag till ready to use. If it's full I mix them now and then.

I'll give you my method--not that it's right or wrong. When I chop a plant, I have two bags for the trimmings. Anything without trichs goes into the big paper bag--this is any fan leaves, stems and the parts of leaves near buds that don't have trichs. Yes, I will cut a leave in half and put the non-trich half in the big bag. The trich half goes in....

the smaller paper bag gets everything other than buds with a trich on it. This could be trich'd leaves or trimmings off buds.

The big bag doesn't need to dry out evenly or even at all. You can put the bag in any relatively dry area and just let it sit. I am personally a cannabutter person and will try to make it in the week after I chop a plant. You can use wet leaves and it won't screw anything up! The butter can sit in your fridge for a while if properly stored (airtight)

Now the bag with trich'd leaves will always go to a warm, dry area. This could be an attic, your grow room if you are growing indoors, a spot outdoors in you live in warm area, or just the warmest room in your house. Move the trimmings around once a day and they will dry out quickly. I have smoked these trimmings while waiting for the buds to cure, but have also mixed them in to my cannabutter runs and it's all good. Any time I am growing a strain for the first time, I will always roll a joint with these trimmings to see what the final product will be like.
