sorry to be a short question but should I cut these bits off my plant or not.

no its to young . you will be doing harm not good. once its bigger then post us a pic . right now you need to keep all that growth .

Don't cut!!! Let them grow them starter leafs are feeding your plant and will fall off on there own

You 'top' at this stage and prune more early flower.
