So about a week or 2 from scheduled harvest I get a rouge male from a later crop, popping open & spoiling one of my girls.. Like I said, just a couple of weeks from finish. Now at the scheduled finish my tricombs are milky but not turning amber. and I see some seed development as opposed to further bud development. to Cut, or wait?

swinlv-672092-albums-auto-joc-horror-picture2792295-dsc-4132.jpgnice red hairs Milky Tricombs.... just no Amber. Will the plant stop increasing in Tricomb production and focus all energy into seed production? should I chop?

Not a expert just giving opinion.

Do you see seeds forming on that specific plant?
Can you feel them?

If so I suggest chopping, especially if all the Trichomes are milky like you said its actually the best time to harvest if possible when all are milky with no amber left.

Also the red hairs don't always mean they are pollinated, all plants grow white hairs that die fall off (Amber hairs) and regrow new white hairs. If its been a week since pollination and you havent seen any white new hairs develope since its pollinated.

Its looks still young, id flip a coin and wait a few days, to see what happens. If you get more seeds or if it turns amber. Just an opinion as well.

If its not finished I'm confused as to why you would chop it... unless its the one throwing pollen everywhere.

Look at the stage the seeds are in, if they are immature you should be fine to let her go a little. You have to remember once they are pollinated they put all their energy into seed production and thric. production slows to a crawl. Tough call I would split the difference and give her another week or so. Good Luck

IMO -- This is more about what u prefer if its your own personal medicine. If caregiving for another you should ask them his/her preference!

IMO # 1 -- Me personally I prefer All milky with a very small amount of amber chomes ... Let's say 20%ish so I would wait a day or two hope for a few too turn before seeds mature.

IMO # 2 -- Pending the cross breed(if two different strains) I might let mature and begin the process of my own hybrid and continue playing with genetics.

I popped a couple of fully developed seeds and it looks like the pods are swelling all over this plant... No clear tricombs all milky and white ....... Will pollination prevent tricombs from turning amber?

I have to disagree though, a pollinated plant still produces bud and still produces trichs... and yes I know this from experience. Some of the best bud I've ever had was seeded

A couple of seeds never hurt anyone, though it does effect market value. If it's personals, I'd keep it. If it's for market, I'd have to think about it...

She got knocked up. Might as well let her finish. She, cant knock up your other plants, unless it's a Hermi. You did say there was a male, I assume it is gone.
You never know, could be some good personal smoke and you got some seeds for next time.bongsmilie

Its an Auto Joc Horror( sativa) & the male was a Purple power ( Hybrid-Indica) I'm pretty sure that I have no desire to play with genetics here ( but I did plant 2 of the mature seeds).

Yikes that sucks if your auto got pollinated but at the same time if your low on cash you can breed those seeds and do a SoG style grow with them just plant a buch in a few liters of soil and your good

If you dont intend on using seeds just feel the plant if you are satisfied with the denseity then go 48 hours to 1 week of darkness (no light) this will force the plant to use w/e is left thinking its dying and will produce more trichomes and possibly some may go amber in that time and your good to dry and cure
