Too late for topping/fimming? (pics) Northern Light, will be outdoor grow.

Hey folks, so I was contemplating topping/fimming my plants that are in veg mode, but I am not sure if it will be worth it, or if it will kill my plants/kill my yield.

They are Northern Lights, I only have two of them. Right now they are being held under CFL light, and during the days that it is sunny, on the balcony. However, next week, they are being planted outdoors (guerilla grow), so they will be on outdoor light time. Seeing as it is June, that's about... what? 6am to about 7:30pm? Most likely, it'll take them into flowering mode pretty fast, but I have heard that they tend ot start catching up really fast once they're tossed outside.

One the plants was Germinated the last week of April. So that makes it about 6-7 weeks old, still in Vegitative mode. The other for some odd reason, decided to germinate a week later (it was weird), so its 5-6 weeks old. They are supposed to flower (in my region/climate) at about 8-9 weeks.

My question's are:

A) Should I even bother with fimming/topping? Or will it probably kill my plants? Will it even be worth it, or do Northern Lights Respond poorly to fimming?

B) Is it even too late to do it?

I am hoping someone who has grown outdoor NL can help me!!!!

Thank you!

Pics of my 2 plants (one older, one younger) are attached. :) The order of the pics goes: Younger plants top area/coppola, then younger plant (almost a foot), Large plant's top foliage area (where main coppola will be), Large plant (1.5 feet tall)

You guys have never let me down before with advice, so PLEASE help me again! (I do the same whenever I have the answer :) )

Are they Nirvana's Northern Lights? I stumbled on this thread looking for the answer to the same question. I have a couple 6 week old Nirvana NL that have been outside for about 3 weeks now. All my plants have streched quite a bit since I took them out, especially the NL. I was thinking about topping to maybe slow the verticle growth for awhile and produce more tops. Personally, I don't think it's too late, but I could be mistaken. They are suppose to be mostly indica, but mine seem like they have a lot of sativa in them.

Not a big fan of topping myself, I've done it a few times though. A buddy of mine has been growing outdoors for several years now and he tops his at 6 inches, two feet, four feet, even as high as six foot plants, as long as they haven't started budding, he tears it up. Not sure if this is wise or not, but apparently, the age and height have little to do with it for him, and it works. He had one plant last summer, topped it 11 times, and this beauty was wider than it was tall, and it was tall, about 5 1/2 feet when I saw it. No real advice here one way or the other, just sharing what I've seen work.
