Too much light?

Hi guys,

I've just moved 25 rooted seedlings (6 days old) in my aeroponics system. I have 2 x 600w AGRO lamps on, 183 000 total lumens in a 57 square feet space. Is that too much? Should I shut down a lamp?

Also, I have a home made cloning machine. Do you think it would be better to keep the seedlings into the cloning machine and under a humidity dome until they grow a little bigger and then move them into the system?

Lumens alone don't describe the quality of light the plants are getting, so impossible to say. Are they MH? What kind of hoods?

Don't move the clones until they have well established roots.

The lamps are AGRO, technically I think they are considered HPS and can be used for both vegetative and flowering stage. I have attached a picture of the hoods (one is a cooltube and one is an open air reflector). I also have a third lamp in a cooltube that for now I don't use.

Awesome setup. I think the lighting is ok, I'd suggest t5's if you have them but if the 600's are high enough above the seedlings until they get a good start and nice roots, they will be fine, then you can lower the lights. Make sure you watch for stretching and adjust the light accordingly. Also seedlings are fragile to too much light/ heat. Is this your first hydro system? I'm jealous.

Yeah I'd agree with using some kind a fluorescent for the seedling, if not just to save energy, like some whatever cornerstone CFLs are fine. And get some Yoko hanger dealies to adjust the light hight like AP was saying.

And if you've got an areoponic machine no need for the dome

Yes, this my first hydro system. Built it with a friend in about 2 weeks. Don't be jealous, you can easily make one yourself.
