I usually go there once or twice a year to find some oddball connector. They always have it.

I feel like a fuckin dork when I have to go to radio shack.

Worked there for two summers back in 1995 and 1996.

First boss was a thief from the store and the employees. The b1tch snagged a $2500 commission right out of my paycheck that would have totaled around $300 to me.

Second boss was an a$$. I came back from school to find a new cell phone package. First day, after I got a customer call I had the good sense to ask someone who was there when the package was setup, him. He flipped screaming that he was the only one there who knew anything ... bla bla bla. Then he threw a damned phone at me that he got off the wall.

I tendered my resignation that day and walked out.

In the time I worked there 70% of the computers sold came back with some error, it generally wasn't user generated either. Over 80% of the stereo's came back and went to the repair shop, most of them two or three times. TV's came back more than stereos.

Bottom line... Tandy corp is in the business of selling warranties. They sell warranties in the hopes the customer just says fk it and doesn't bring stuff back. Their products are crap and they know it, about the only things worth while in their stores are the 'components' that line the walls. Some of that stuff lasts forever, but the big money items are all junk.

I won't even buy the $13 microscope from them. When I start a grow I'll find one online and pay 2 to 3 times for the same thing simply because I will not spend money at Radio shack.

I don't normally think about radio shack as being anything but an electronics store a tad pricey but locally convenient i guess. :peace:

I've never worked there but I did like to buy components, etc. there. We don't have many electronics stores so it was convenient. They changed all of ours to The Source. They don't sell many components so they're pretty useless :|
