Topping Auto Flower

I wanted to try topping autoflowers outside grow. Is the first set of serrated leaves the first node? I read you top after third node for autoflowers. Outside grow. Thanks

Did you even read the OP? WTF are you talking about. Who trains their plant after harvest??

Any who, to the OP yes I'd consider the first set of true leaves the first node. I may be wrong but less wrong than that generic reply above.

Work on reading comprehension before being condescending . Let me break it down into steps for you.

Step 1) Get the plant to harvest while healthy.

Step 2) Worry about training plants on the next grow if step 1 is successfully completed.

The OP asked a simple question about which node is the first node that's all. So who was being condescending?

I was being helpful. If the OP can't figure out how or where to top it's better off that he leave his autoflower alone and just try to get to the point of a successful harvest. That was my point.

If you don't agree that's fine. But usually new growers do things that they shouldn't and wonder why they have poor results. Again, I was helping.
 
Ive seen it done but I personally wouldnt recommend since autos can be a little tricky. you only have so much time

It can easily be done with a healthy plant. Unfortunately a lot of new growers have been led to believe that autoflowers are easier to grow and have a hard time keeping a plant healthy.

Their inexperience coupled with the lack to control when it flowers lead to poor results. Unless you are a capable grower able to have a run with zero issues I wouldn't recommend it.

Yes the first set of true leaves is the first node. Personally I would not top an auto unless I knew the plant very well as in have grown it many times and understand how the strain will react. If you are not very experienced you will likely harm your yield rather than help it. That said it's your plant and if you want to do it than totally your call. Good luck.
