Topping autoflowers ?

I would stick with LST for your first run. I topped on my most recent grow and will stick with well timed LST moving forward. Topping worked fine, fwiw, but autos can be finicky, and certainly wasn’t any better than bushy plants that benefit from some simple tie downs and tucking. Best to tread lightly, especially starting out. Imo. Good luck!

Hey guys , just wondering what your guys opinion is on topping autoflowers ? I'm starting my first indoor grow soon and would like to have as much success as possible . I hear you can top them once at maybe 3 nodes high? Thx
Being it’s your first.. I’d just let it grow. Get to know the plants habits, reactions to feeds and whatnot before trying new things. It’s your world however.

What do you guys think about seeds ? Can they be placed right In the soil or is paper towels method best?
I normally plant directly in the soil, but the other option I have used is to drop them into a shotglass of water until they "crack", then move them to a paper towel, and plant them when the get "tails".

Top all plants, and IMO top them early.

It never makes sense to me when people veg a plant for like 60+ days, get it like 2ft tall and hack the top off. Makes no sense. For my time and effort, i prefer pinching a small top off the plant while still in a solo cup, that way the plant gets a nice low V or U-shape to the main stalk instead of a tall lanky Y-shape.

With you on that, I could never understand people topping by cutting off the mainstalk and sacrificing several sets of leaves, the pinch method (of even FIM) works much better, IMHO.

Simple thoughts of a simple man.
If your have a set genetic clock then recovery time is wasted time. Low stress training methods are best. Cut only what is needed for proper light distribution and air flow

I top chop once right before they flower like a week before they start to turn or even right as they turn won't hurt otherwise just keep em trimmed so all the nugs get plenty light
