Topping this late in season?

I have a masssive bush. I topped it again on most of the BIG branches (5 or 6) because it is getting to tall for the area and any taller will begin to be noticed.. Is it to late in the season? They will be showing sex with in the next 2 weeks.. any day now basically. Is this an issue? i know it is fairly low stress but is it enough to be an issue? I did it as it was getting dark.. I also gave it a gallon and a half of water.

It will be fine to top them now, they'll recover in the 2 weeks plus more growth most likely

ok.. thank you I assumed so.. but wasn't sure . I did it with out really thinking .. then i got home and a friend said "your crazy"

It would depend where u live I guess. Im in norcal and have one seedling going, topped it a few days ago at the 5th node. Flowering's supposed to begin right about now so it shouldn't hurt the yield and hopefully help it, but it would definitely be smart for you to top them for height issues, even if it effected the yield.
