I have a few plants that are getting a little tall compared to the rest of my grow. They are Females just an indie strain. My room got a little hot and burnt the tops of these plants. I was wondering about topping these plants and the effects. I am into my second week of 12/12. By the way I am switching to night light instead of day light to decrease heat. I was also wondering about trimming at this stage the plants are about 2.5 feet tall I have them trimmed up 8 to 10 inches now with sog but I am thinking the bottom is still not getting enough light. Also when and how to use mollases? Thanks

if you are Flowering topping now woudl not be the way to go considering the plant would take all of its energy making fat buds to rebuilding the plant that you hacked off. Topping is meant for vegging during the plants establishment phase if you will, top it at around 8 inches or so than top agin at 15 in. you should never top it more than twice though. So for now I would just let them finish flowering, remember the finished flowering product of the plant compared to the veged product of the plant will be 2 to 3 times bigger. post some pix so we can possibly help ya, maybe tie it down cause it is stretching too much, or bring the light a little closer so they arent reaching as much, many variety of things you can do but you barely gave us any details on your grow, help us help you! :leaf:

sometimes a plant should not be topped more than once, depending on the genetics of the plant it may just be much shorter and thicker needing to only be topped once. :leaf:

Sorry did not see your question about molasses till just now. Molasses could be added in with your nutes, adding it to the water you will need to boil the water and than add the molasses and let it sit for 30 mins, to get a better idea on how the molasses works and how much you should add for how much you are watering check out the Grow FAQs, Molasses is covered! :leaf:

tie the top down or bend top till it half snaps. May sound weird if youve never tried it, but it works. Damaged cells grow back just as strong if not stronger. Good way of keeping tops out of light and allowing light to get to lower sites.
