you can pop the top node off if you like. if you want more than 4 branches, let it grow a bit first.

Thats what i was thinking, its starting to side branch the last while. what i want to do is keep it nice and bushy so it can sit in around the lillys unnoticed ya know.

So i should wait another week or so then?

I wait till the plants is about 8" tall... you want the stem to be strong enough for extra growth.. check top chart in my sig.. Luck.

if you want a shrub, let it grow to about 12'', then top. all sides will catch up with the new tops, and you'll have a shrub instead of long spires :).

if you want it that short then go ahead, there's no ideal time to top.
