i'm about to start the flowering process with my plant....i'm going to give it 12-13 hours of darkness per day, does it mean TOTAL darkness, or will a cupboard with even just a tiny bit of light do??

or ive got a plastic small black bin i could put over the top of the plant pot that will completely block ANY light from getting in, but may also stop any air getting in.....any ideas best way to do it?

cheers
Matt

there needs 2 be NO light, any sort of cracks of light will stunt the flowering cycle!

Maybe try to tape the edges of the cabinet where the light shines in, as long as you could still access the plant.

It's not just the size of the leaks but the intensity of the light on the other side. That's why it's easier to make dark time at night. My grow is in a closet that leaks light but the room the closet is in has lightproof curtains on the windows. of course light still comes in, but the hour of grey morning and evening when lights are off isn't leaking enough lumens through the cracks in the closet to do any harm. Now if you were doing your dark time during the day with a brightly lit room, it would be another matter.
