so im only tryin to grown one maybe two plants at a time. what kind of light setup should i use?


im going to be using a 2-3 foot tall box, and was planning on going the shop light route.

any suggestions??

For that size box forget the 250W HPS you want to use CFL only for vegetative growth and a 150W or smaller HPS for flowering. 250W HPS is a good size light to start out with though. Either way, first get the light(s) you want, then find the cabinet/box to fit the light rather than the other way around. The light is the heart of any operation no matter how simple or complex... :joint::joint::joint:

1-2 plants go with a 150hps. it will suffice and wont get as hot at the 250w. def ganna have to get some good ventilation going on if you want an hps in there. u def can use cfls for veg or, the more expensive and better quality route, u can just get the hps setup and get a metal halide conversion bulb for your veg state. probly would spend the same if not more setting up enough cfls for veg than you would buying a conversion bulb. good luck:blsmoke:

dont you need a ballast with HPS too?

i bought some HPS bulbs yesterday but no ballast. anyone know where to get a ballast in central jersey?


i was gonna return them and go with a 4 ft shoplight instead and some Fls.



anybody know where to get a cheap ballast in cnj?

alright, so i found some ballasts by my house for 75 each. the bulbs are 20 bucks each. i already bought 2 bulbs.

i guess im gonna hold on to them until flowering, and pick up a ballast sometime in between then. for now looks like im gonna go one or two CFL's with an 11 inch reflector plate?

oh yeah, im gonna make the box big enough to fit a compact fan in there for vent/cooling

what do you guys think?

okay, so i found a store near my house that sells everything talked about on here.

so im gonna go with the new wave t-5 2 foot 4 bulb.



should i switch to hps during flowering or what?
