I dont have direct experience but they're discussed in this threadWas wondering if anyone has any experience with tower fans in grow tents? Thinking on straping one near the ceiling of the tent pointing down above everything.
I have a 42 inch lasko hanging on its side by two rope rachets in my 4x4. I keep it just above the canopy, so the entire canopy gets a nice light breeze, then the air hits the opposite side of the tent and blasts down below. Creates the best circulation of any fan I've used. I do keep an oscillating fan running under the canopy as well.
Looks great. If you wanted to get real crazy, you could put another one on the opposite side below the canopy, for some circular type airflow.View attachment 4836655
Here is the tower fan hanging on the left side, I like it because it really doesn't take up much space, buds can still get light underneath it.
You have no idea how much I love that idea!!Looks great. If you wanted to get real crazy, you could put another one on the opposite side below the canopy, for some circular type airflow.
Heck, that's exactly what I was thinking as I was typing it ("hmm.. maybe I should try this myself.."). Haha. Right now below the canopy of my 4x4 I have a little vortex going with 4 small fans, which aim up, and at a, angle, so the air sort of spins around the perimeter and up thru the canopy. You have no idea how much I love that idea!!
I hang my fans from the ceiling using long straps that I point onto the soil and veg.
Why would you put a fan in the top of your tent and have it blowing down? Thats blowing hot air back down...Was wondering if anyone has any experience with tower fans in grow tents? Thinking on straping one near the ceiling of the tent pointing down above everything.
Sometimes growers want that extra heat at canopy level. Heck, I'd be pretty happy myself to have an extra 5 degrees in my tent this month. Why would you put a fan in the top of your tent and have it blowing down? Thats blowing hot air back down...
May i recommend?
I have 3 6" clip on fans in the top of my 4x8
They all point at a carbon filter.
Works wonderfully. I am running a 30 or 50 pint dehu. Puts off a lot of heat. A 560W LED and another 150W QB. And my highest temps are 81⁰F in my 4x8.
Fan placement really helps when done properly. There are dead zones in tents where air just won't even blow out of the fan lol. 6" fans are almost worthless. 8" and up is my recommendation
