hi im wondering if this is a toxic salt build up. these pictures were taken at week 8 1/2.

HPS 600w, ebb and flow system, rockwool and expanded clay pellets. air temp 28 degrees celcius, humidity 48%. i use hard water from the tap at 0.4 EC. at 18 degrees celcius. General Hydroponics flora series(floragrow, florabloom, floramicro hardwater)

im using GH ripen And will finnish off with a week of distilled water.

I was looking for a cleaning solution like flora kleen but its not available in my country...any sugestions on how to flush my medium? all i have is hard water available.

many thanks!

P.S. sorry if the pics are out of focus, my camera is a POS!

I think, or I am guessing that the mineral salts wre from your hard water. I am not certain that flushing with SOFT water would help, but I think so.
I do beleive taht flushing with HARD water will not help either. Ther are people on this site that know more about it than I, I ws jsut trying tob e hlepful, I ahve those mineral salts build up from my well water, in and on my hydro tank. BUT it never does any harm to my plants that I can see or tell.

yellowing? I didn't see any mention of yellowing. Yellowing is usuually over feeding them.

the first pic on my post shows the yellowing, check it out..im sure its not nitrogen, maybe overfeed, but it looks like salts to me. can anyone give me a diagnosis by looking at the picture?

Looks like salt builup but how heavy do you feed? It could be from over ferting or hard water. The ppm of my tap is 305 and considered too hard to grow in. I use tap with no issues but I add pond water detox or chlorine remover from the pet store. It removes all the bad stuff from the tap and you can use it right away. No 24hr stuff. You need to do the same and use that water to flush your plants. Just run the ph adjusted tap water only for few days then go back to your cycle but keep adding the detoxifier to your water. You can finish with distilled but I use tap water and get no complaints from anyone who smokes my stuff. Good taste, flavor and no headache. Good Luck!

thanks bubba! so maybe chlorine is the problem. i usualy feed them at about 2.0 ec during flowering(dont know that in ppm) my tap water is 0.4 ec. i allways mix my solution as directed on the lables, but maybe it got to strong due to evaporation. i change the whole solution every week, but even so, white residue apears on my medium and the the leaves start to "rust" . and this happens during late flowering. the rest of the time plants seem healthy, maybe in the last 3 weeks this starts to happen

OMG absolutely NEVER use SOFT water on plants. Unless you want them to die....
