Just got an AI Vac Oven. prior to this, my method was as follows;
1.open blast to pyrex
2. hot water bath till reaction stops
3. mix with everclear
4. winterize in freezer for 48 hours
5. filter
6. evap everclear using pyrex pan over 175degree water pot
7. scrape and let harden to shatter.
I got a nice shatter from this, but you could definitely still taste the solvent, BAD flavor!
So I am hoping to AI oven will give me a better purge. The only thing I am hung up on is how I get the oil onto the parchment after blasting, I know that blasting directly onto parchment is a no no. I have tried doing my original method and just putting in the vac oven after the everclear evaporates. This yielded a VERY nice result, but it was a low yield and a LOT of work. I then tried mixing with just an ounce of everclear after step 2 and then pouring directly onto parchment and going into the oven, however the alcohol went thrrough the parchment and made a sticky MESS! I would like to just cut out the winterizing process when doing nug runs, cause It seems to not really filter as many lipids as it does for trim runs. But I would like suggestions on how I can get the blasted oil onto parchment and into the oven with minimal loss and minimal headaches.
