Transplant questions...

I think my trees are ready to in bigger pots... I used Miracle-Gro Performance Organics with my seedlings... Do I have to keep the soil the same or can I try Fox Farm or something else?

Also with the new pots, what is recommended?
How much water should I give them initially? Should I add any nutrients at that time as well?

Fox Farm ocean forest is grand but expensive, and can be used many times with little amending ...its hot

you put you plants in that you will burn them totally, I'd continue as you are, as the ph and nute levels are constant

next grow I'd reccomend flipping to FFOF and adding 30% perlite and more if you intend to add your own nutes later

good luck

You do not have to keep the same soil and you can definitely go into fox farms ocean forest. just use water and myco and fully saturate the soil. I like roots organic for my outdoor soil containers I don’t use soil inside. I’ve used fox farms ocean forest hundreds of times though, the consistency of their soil has been degrading for years and fungus gnats are always in fox farms soils. It’s also a little muddy and heavy if your not amending your soil than go with roots organic it’s much lighter and feeds for just as long and keeps it’s ph, plus I never get thrip larvae and fungus gnat larvae with roots. You won’t have to feed anything for 2-4 weeks. Use fabric containers they are a little better than regular plastic pots

I’m missing what’s funny about this, I’ve grown a thousand plus plants in fox farms ocean forest amended to super soil and only a few hundred in roots organic and it’s better there’s no way around it

Switching soil is fine, both Rootz and FFOF have theur advantages but i agree with eriticus, the Big Rootz is better, alot easier to over water with juat straight FFOF soil, my recommendation is to throw some Coco in it or perlite if going with Fox Farms and use Mycorhizzae directly on roots
