Chris323 Well-Known Member Mar 23, 2014 #2 Im far from an expert , but i would say you can put seedlings under an HID right from the get go but the light should be 3-4 feet from the tops for the first 2-3 weeks .. I use a T5 for the first 2-3 weeks then shove them under 600 HPS to veg.
