Transplanted too early? scared of rootbound during flower!

i transplanted from 1 gallon pots (all extremely root bound) and put them in their own 5 gallon bucket 8 days ago, i fear i might have done this too early, i want to put a scrog screen up and start flowering today but i dont want them to get rootbound, have to destroy my scrog screen and then re transplant into bigger containers. any info or advice appreciated

You could just flower them in 5 gal or if you want to go bigger, now is the time. Not later once you have scrogged.

5gal is probably heaps anyway

I use 3 gallon pots and flower them 5 foot tall . never root bound smart pots . I prefer 10 gallon pots . but some times space is limited . your ok no worries

I seriously you'll have or see any issues with your plants getting root bound. 5 gallon is plenty unless you want to grow trees. Your plants look good and you are on the right path. Don't overthink it. One way to not worry about root bound amymore is to use root pouches or the like, they are awesome. The brown root pouches are tough as nails and are my favorite fabric pot I have used. Geo Pots are good too. I dont like smart pots as they are too flimsy.
