transplanting basics from clone/seedling to flower

I am fine tuning with a small setup that has been working very well for me but i dont have enough plants to run a bunch of control and test groups over years to learn the most efficient system for transplanting; i have found a lot of good information on this forum but i cannot find too much consensus on this. please let me know what you think.

i grow in coco with perlite and generally flower in 7 or 10 gallon smart pots; just 2 or 3 at a time in Flower room but they are 5-7' tall and scrog 5' wide or so each. with 1000w hps lights. In veg i have everything under a 400w mh and some t-8s

right now with seedlings i basically transfer to a 1 gallon pot within 3 weeks or so, so they go from in the humidity dome out into 1 gallon pots and get watered once a week or so with bigbloom bat shit from fox. they seem to like going into the one gallon, and grow vigorously, not sure when to transfer these up to #7 pots either.

for clones i usually start them in cubes or redi-root soil sponge things and then once the roots pop through the sides and they are looking healthy i take them from the dome to 4 inch square pots or SOLO cups and coco coir with bat shit feed and microbes, root drench.

so here is where i either need to revise my system above or figure out when to transfer to 7 gallon smart pots. I feel like the clones out grow the SOLO cups in a week or so and get some root wrap going which i like to prevent, but then i usually take them into 7 gallon straight away for about 5 weeks then into flower after that. sometimes if i dont have enough coco hydrated i will put them into a 2 gallon and then later right before flower i'll go into the 7 gallon. what are your thoughts on this?

should i do a transplant from SOLO cup into a 1, 2 or 3 gallon before going to 7 or 10 or what do you all do? typically i take clones right before i put plants into flower and hopefully they are ready to go into the flower room in about 10 weeks when the two donors are finished.

I should say the strains are afgooy (hash plant and takes about 7ish weeks flower time) and a cross that is basically g13 and thai that i got from a brilliant local old timer farmer 8-10 weeks flower time.
he just does what ever and grows in 30 gallon pots and has 3 to 4 inch across trunks under his plants without worrying about ph, bugs or anything. ??? i have not had his luck with my first several grows but harvests have been plentiful for a personal grow usually yielding a pound or so between 2 plants.

please contribute your experience as you have all struggled with such a simple part of this growing process pot size and when.

thanks

i know i am looking too far into this, but if i cant use a forum like this to try and dial it in, then i better just get back to growing tenaciously

i think your looking way too far into this man, just transplant them when you want. as long as the roots hold the soil together your fine.

Yes. If you are going to transplant go from the small seedling/early clone sized cup to a pot about 3-4 times larger then into the final pot.

These are the pots I use for both seedlings and clones, the clones of course are under a humidity dome the first 10-14 days.

Here are the next sized pots I use before I transplant into final 5 or 7 gallon fabrics. First are clones at day 24 from cutting, second pic are seedlings at day 16 from germinated seed in soil. All are still under T5s as I am in no hurry this round. Will go under MH in a few days. I usually then veg under full MH power for another 30 days before flower. I transplant into finals around day 30, both seedlings and clones.

thanks for pics and explanations. I havent noticed a substantial difference between the one i went straight to #7 and the one where i went #2 then to #7.

anyway so do you transplant them and then go straight into flower within a few days after sizing up? or did i misread that.
