Transplanting question

Just transplanted my seedling from a fiber pot (planted the pot as well) into my final container. Should I have removed the seedling from the pot first, or am I okay to plant the whole thing like I did?

im pretty sure with those they disintegrate in the ground. or the roots grow through them i believe..

Kinda what I was thinking. I mean, when it\'s wet I can stick a pencil through the thing with a little work, hoping roots have the same fervor.

I use peat pots and just plant the pot. At first I worried about it, but after doing a side by side and inspecting the roots afterward I'm convinced that at least in my setup the pot doesn't make a difference at all.

Mine aren\'t the \"peat pots\" exactly. They are more fibery (if that\'s even a word) than peat. Almost like the fur you find on the outside of a coconut woven into a pot.
