Trellis net height above canopy

So I'm about to put section of a area in my flower room with a trellis net, probably do a double section of trellis if need be. I run a sealed room so my girls are in optimum conditions. The section is going to be under 1 of my 1000w. 6 garlic breaths, about 43 inches tall at the moment. Also I'm 11 days into flower(I know I'm a lil late to be fucking around-setting up a trellis net, been real busy lately) but these girls still have some stretching to do, I ran this strain before.

Just picked the pvc pipes and coner pieces so going to get to work tomorrow. Seeing as I'm in day 11 of flower how high should I set the net above plants? I was thinking 3 inches?? Also I'm getting rid of the raptor hood and throwing up another large adjusta wing open hood which will give me some precious height room.

Dude you know your shit so I won't go off on a lot of detail. But it's best to be able to adjust the height of your trellis, especially if running seed. Goggle up some adjustable systems, look into a peg system on the diy end. A larger pvc pipe that can slide over a smaller piece with holes drilled for pegs on the legs.

You can also do 2 trellis nets if you can’t make them adjustable.

10-18” above the plants for a first fix depending on plant size and then a second if you need it another 10” above the first etc.

Sorry just seen you’re already 43” and into flowering.

make an adjustable that you can drop and fatten them with @Hobbes don’t you drop a net on yours during flowering to flatten the canopy?

I would not be putting a trellis above that canopy. I would be pulling it down into the canopy a bit. Put the trellis up and drop it down on the plants a bit, pull tops through different holes so they are evenly spread out. At this stage you only need one layer. Had you started much, much sooner, you could have used the first layer to help spread the plants out and then the second layer to spread them even more and hold the kolas up.

I just flipped my tent to 12/12. Second trellis will go in in about a week.

I would lollipop those girls then bend and tie down every branch
That trellis needs to push down into the plant and then make the plant part of the trellis
As far as height adjustments , you can always switch legs as I never glue mine but mine is usually about 10 inches above the pot

I'd pull a screen/net down onto them to flatten them out a bit, this is only experimental but you'll get the idea.

My aim is to use the branches as the support hence no frame on the net/screen.

When I started doing it the way you've described my yield went up by a considerable margin I wouldn't consider any other way now, or not that I'm aware of lol

Ya I lollipopped them some more last night- they're looking great. Will throw some pics up tonite, once I bang this out.

So I just snagged another large adjustawing hood, right this moment I have 2 of my 1000w in large adjustawing hoods and the other 2 in raptor 6" a/c hood. So I will get the 3rd 1000w in the adjustawing tonite which will give me some more space and head room. It's funny> feel like the huge oversized a/c raptor hoods were all the rage 10 years ago, now they seem like outdated bulky wastes of space. Gotta say those raptors treated me well over the years we had some very top notch runs together.

Anyways dude I have 2 phenos of garlic breath and you'd be surprised man, these girls have some serious legs, she'll stretch well past 2 weeks, so thought a few inches above canopy would work. I lollipopped a decent amount last night then watered, the lower shoots are moving at a good rate to the top of the plant so think the trellis will help things out and be an improvement. I'm not necessarily putting up a trellis just for support- my colas end up being very strong and rarely flop because of massive air flow and feeding protekt here and there.
I want to get a trellis going because>fuck staking plants!!! Months ago when moving plants, I stabbed myself on top of my cheek right under my eye,. I was fucking lucky, was less than an inch away from eye, I would've been fucked if it hit my eye, yikes. Anyway check this sherb breath, from my room last year. Thing was a monster- colas were massive and grew past stakes and all the colas still supported themselves-

Do it like I did. I used to run a net at vanapy level and that was it, now I have a hanging net and vertical nets that catch the buds when they get heavy. It works great.View attachment 4776109
Ya I'm planing on doing the side wall vertical netting as well, I'm using the bigger trellis net squares, maybe not quite as big as those but bigger than a strictly scrog setup with the smaller squares.

Nah dude that's a great example, that's exactly what I'm going for, how far above the top canopy did you 1st put the net? Or did you pull the cola shoots thru?
Thanks for the compliment buddy!
I put the net over them at the mid/end of week 3 then pulled the buds through it on that occasion but normally I'd put the net/screen on the day I flip then a second net, very similar to @JoeBlow5823 technique post #5, I reckon I could have gained another 20/25% by netting it on day 1 of 12/12 or during veg like post #5

Yeah getting the trellis up while you are still in veg is ideal. Granted my trellis went in only about a week before flipping to flower but it makes a big difference. Get them trained and spread out early on. I will be adding a second layer in a few days. Maybe a week. Today was the first day of 12 hours of darkness.
