trichome color at harvest vs. indica/sativa

This is more for my curiosity than anything, but I've read that harvesting when trichomes are mostly cloudly/clear results in a more energetic high, while harvesting while mostly amber results in a more stoned/couchlock high.

Similarly, a strain that is mostly sativa tends to lead to a more energetic/alert high, while an indica leads to a more body-like stone.

So which has the greater effect on the type of high, the timing of the harvest or the strain? Has anybody tried intentionally mixing and matching the two concepts, or tried intentionally doing the extremes (cloudy trichomes on a sativa vs amber trichomes on an indica)? Really kind of a just for fun thread, but I am a bit curious to what degree each of these two concepts is brought out in the end over the other. I'm also interested to know if many growers out there try to really dial down their results by mixing their knowledge of these two ideas, and what their experience has been.

Very good question. I much prefer the sativa buzz and wonder what effect harvest timing can have on various strains, because of course nearly everything is crossed with indica. I expect that the strain lineage would be dominant and timing of the harvest secondary. But don't know as I'm new to producing mine own meds.

Or i could be schtoned?

Is there enough difference in trichome development that it makes a rats ass anyway? The math sounds right as it affects the types of cannabinoids available at play time.

I saw the chick in the documentary (British iirc) get high on THC isolated from all other cannabinoids (a lab product) and it was not pretty-total paranoia and uneasiness.

I ask here (i lurk everywhere) because I've seen it often mentioned, but sometimes the one speaking gets it backwards, which leads me to believe it's not well understood.
