When the buds are fully matured and the trichs are cloudy it's time to chop, that means the hairs have turned brown/redish and curled, then have a look at the trichs. You can leave it until you start seeing some amber which means it's about peaked in THC production. How long you leave it is up to you but any more than 5% is a waste of potency. Some claim they leave it to go more amber to get couch lock effect, that's a stupid internet thing, if you want couch lock then grow genetics that provide couch lock effects, don't over-ripen and essentially degrade the potency of your plant.

If you post a pic of the plant(s), we can give you better advice. As mentioned above, you want there to be virtually 0% clear, 80-90% cloudy and the rest amber. But the key is how do your plants and buds look, are there any straight, white pistils showing anywhere? If so, you need to wait until they have receded.

Good pics ----> Better advice :bigjoint:

Check your triches daily, that what you will notice the changes, you don't want to touch it when it only shows only clear, a good time is when they are all mostly cleat and 10 to 20 percent Amber no more.

Agree with GroErr and there are charts that show's tic color and affect - (growweedeasy) depends on what one wants highest THC content at 100% milky (head high) many harvest when there is a 50/50 mix - milky/amber (effect the body) if no loupe harvest when the "pistals" are 80% amber. At least 4 more weeks

Just wanted to throw this out there since you said you're growing BD. It's sat Dom and can take a bit longer than 8weeks to finish flowering, also by week 5 I had about 20% covered in Amber trichs. Amber doesn't mean degradation. Brown trichs on the other hand does.

Most have posted good advice, wait for the time when there is least amount of clear and 10% Amber. Trics will continue to ripen a small amount after chop, so you'll end up with 15-20% by the time it's all cured.

Also, use more than one variable to decide......consider how swollen the calyxs are, this indicates ripeness too.
