Trichs with BLACK heads : /

Hi their, my plants are in their 6th week of budding and i had noticed today. That one of the plants hairs had a drak tint to it near the tops of the hairs. like the hair might change a shade of tint or something. It was only like this on one of 4 plants in the room. And it was only on a few branchs of the plant near the middle of the plant. But I took a hair of it and put it under my 420 scope to check it out. And the Trichs look like 2 of them fuissed together at the head and its blakc where the 2 trichs meet. but still a somewhat clear steam on the trich.

Is this at all common? What does it mean? Good, bad, dont worry about too much?
The plant is a OD on Chem from Elite. (One of the last packs to make it out before he went down)
I keep my temps at about 80 with light on and about 70-67 with the ligth off.

Thanx for any help or info with this guys and gals. CAnt wait to try this shit. Shedual cut date is Holloween :eyesmoke: but than a few weeks for drying. BUt the bubble hash will made within the next days of cutting down. CAnt wait for that either

It's not normal at all and I suspect black is not a color you wanna see anywhere in your grow.

That said, who knows?

You say trichs... are you just talking about the hairs? To see the trich heads you would need some magnification...

With the naked eye, you cant see it. it just looks like a darkish haze over the white hairs. I have a 420 scope that magnifise 60-100 times and has a led light to brightin it up. Check ebay, thats where i ought mine for 20ish. Great lil tool to buy.
But thats what i used to look at the trichs on the hairs. And its definatly the heads of the trichs look like their melted together with anohter head of a trich. The steams of the trichs are still nice and somewhat clear, but jst most of the heads on them are "melted" togehter. And it also only near the top half of the hairs and only one a few buds at the middle of the plant. lower branhces dont have it adn the top bud doesnt. adn dits only on 1 plant out of the 4 i have.
Ill check on it again in a day or two.

In the cannabible series there is a strain featured that was described as having trichs with metallic looking heads, so I think black is possible. Don't remember which strain though sorry.

While I have never seen it I would not say it is impossible so while I did have to poke a little fun with the Ripley’s thing it may just be something I never saw before.

It is like how one time I had a wispy veiny looking streak that was somewhere between purple and ox blood running up trichome stalks and into heads in a few areas. It would be like a few here and then a few other there and then down there I would find a few more etc. It was odd. Other than that the trichomes were still totally clear but this vein-like discoloration ran through some trichomes in some areas.

I agree, might just be something I haven't come across, but I'd love to see some pictures.

There are a couple of different ways to take trichome pictures. One is to get a high resolution digi cam - 8mp+ and use the Macro mode and hold the camera about 3-4 inches from the surface. The Macro mode often looks like a little flower.

The other way is to try to take a picture through the scope and while I've seen this done, I've never been able to get it to work. If you figure out another good way, please do let me know.

yeah I think this guy sounds for real. I mean, stuff does flow up into the head of a trich right? Isn't that how they turn cloudy and ultimately amber? Meh I'm caring less and less by the minute...
