  • took clones 6-17-13 and here they are today. Question now is about tricones . I see some mushroom shaped things thru scope but they are clear and some don't even have heads......but flat on the leaves are lots of small spheres ranging from clear to amber but I don't know if these are these strains (TIMEWRECK & MAWI) or if I'm missing clues, don't think it's harvest time......so what yall think​

they're looking good imo, but are NO WHERE near harvest.. probably a good 6 weeks or so left on them easily.. :D

Agree with racerboy71 on both counts. Lookin' good and lookin' like they are about 3-4 weeks in. Not that I see well, but I'm not even seein' one brown pistil in your pics. So have some patience and those little trichs, that are barely showing now, will cover the buds and leaves, in just a few short weeks. Then be looking for those little "helium balloons on strings". With those almost bursting, bulbous, sticky, milky colored heads :weed: (damn, I'm gettin' turned on :eyesmoke: Throw in some amber colored "balloons" and it's soup bongsmilie

i agree with all that i was just wondering what those clear , cloudy and amber ballons w/o strings just laying on the leaves ??

Oh, but he sees amber trichomes, they MUST be ready!!!

This is why looking at trichomes is pointless unless you can recognize a mature, ripe plant by looking at it. And if you can recognize the obvious signs, then the microscope becomes a secondary tool.

Absolutely, trichs are a decent, but not a foolproof, indicator. As you point out, recognition of a ripe plant is the best indicator. But, many new growers don't know what a ripe plant/bud looks like, and can't figure it out, even though there are super threads with pics. So it's usually easier to advise them to use trichs as the indicator, then trying to explain what a mature (gave its all and now it's ready to die) plant looks like. If the pics aren't enough. I've tried helping using both methods and for some reason, new growers just don't seem to get the mature plant method. :cry:

They're Trichomes. You obviously know they're not ready, im half retarded and even i got that from what you've posted.

There are actually 3 different types of trichomes on the cannabis plant. Try Googling types of cannabis trichomes and I'm sure you'll find this info. Hope that leads you to your answer.
