Tried making hash.. came out weird

Ok so I tried making hash for the first time. Just with about 10 gs of leaf. Tried going the coffee filter method, but it didn't work.

The filter didn't catch any hash and i just ended up with brown liquid.

I figured I could heat the water, evaporate it and be left with hash.

What I have been left with is like tar. Dark brown, almost black, sticky ,smells and tastes really potent. About a 1/4 of a teaspoon.

Anyone know if this has worked or not? Will it harden? Would I be mad to eat it all in one go?

Pics? Also what is the coffee filter method? You mean butane extracted? It won't harden if you heated it... Perma goo bro

Well it was a tutorial on here somewhere.

Take frozen leaf and put into jug of ice water with lots of ice.

Stir that shit up for about 15 mins

strain it

pour the strained liquid tthrough a coffee filter.

Now according to the tutorial this is the part that catches the hash, but the stuff just went through the filter and left me nothing. And I still just had a jug of cold brown water.

So I thought.. fuck it lets simmer this for a while and see if anything remains at the end.

I believe this is concentrated marijuana and that i will get very stoned from ingesting it..

just weird how it came out.. maybe it will harden in time, or not as it was heated as you say chew

You did an Ice water extraction.. Coffee filters are 10-20 microns, anything that went past that is probably garbage IMO, I may be wrong, but in theory you should cook with anything under 45 or eat it... Nothing was left on the coffee filter at all?

A coffee filter is around the same size as a hash press but you lose more hash using them(tend to stick ect.). If you don't have a filter use a window screen it wont get out all the leaf particles but it will remove most of them. Let the water settle for a couple of hours and siphon the water from the top while trying not to disturb the sediment too much. Then use the coffee filter to strain the sediment.

Try gumby hash, no filters except time.

I prefer to dry my leaf and popcorn before freezing.

freeze material then do jug with ice and 30 minutes agitation.

in Gumby strain off leafy material and Ice chunks out, save plant, put back in bag and freeze.

let jug settle 4-6 hours, Syphon off water to about a third of a gal.

Swirl and pour into a smaller container, let sit 4 hours, Syphon to within 1/2" of Tricomes collected at the bottom.

Pour remaining water and Trichs into a Pyrex dish evaporate the water over a 1-3 day period on a seedling mat.

Scrape up and you have some magic Dust!

could be holes in the filter.. dunno really. Thanks for the tips guys next time should go a bit better.. though i think i'll still be gettig high off this stuff too.

Hit that homey. Its likely not fully decarbed so eating it would be wasteful. Heat from vaping / smoking it will decarb it.

guys I ate that shit the other night. Too much ,too much. I poured a cup of boiling water and it dissovled right in. Added coffee, suger and milk, drank it in one.. did'nt taste too bad. What a retarded high. If I had taken half, it might have been more enjoyable. As it was I was paralysed, paranoid and tripping out. Live and learn

still don't know why you ate it instead of smoking but funny either way, I've been there plenty of times as most of us have
