trimming?

it's my first time growing and I had a general knowledge on it but looked at some YouTube videos and came across trimming. I didn't know you did this so I did a bit feeling this is wrong. is it Coz now I've read on this app it's a no no

When you say trimming you mean defoliating leaves and not trimming up dried bud to smoke correct

If so you can trim up so just don’t strip it clean if all it’s leaves. Can alway do the bottom 1/3 of the plant
