I've talked about this in the general forum but I wanted to make sure my Maine buddies are aware. A few months ago I heard about some of the various devices available to make trimming easier. They vary in sophistication and price, but they're all pretty expensive.
One that I heard good things about is the Spin Pro. Basically it is a big salad bowl with a grate at the top for bud to sit on. a four bladed wire spins underneath the grate to snip any leaves that poke through. A matching salad bowl sits on top. It has a dozen or so big rubber fingers inside to move the bud around. A crank goes in the top that you use to spin it. The blades are geared so they go around about 4 times as fast as you spin.
You just snip your big fan leaves manually, then snip off untrimmed buds and throw 'em in. You can easily put in an ounce or two of bud. About 15 cranks later you got nicely trimmed bud to put on a screen and dry.
Cuts 4 hours of work down to 1. It works, and works well.
They typically cost 5-600 bucks I understand. I got lucky on an eBay auction and got mine for about 260 shipped.
There are videos on youtube too.
