The US government/DEA is not happy with mexico's new liberal drug laws and is trying to throw dirt on them in the eye of the American Public by blaming much of the marijuana grow problem in CA on the Mexican cartels. It wont be long before they start trying to make connections between these 'cartel problems' and Mexico's drug policy. Beware!

this all came to me in an instant like pieces of a puzzle when i read the last sentence in the 'Outdoor Cannabis Cultivation' section on wikipedia.
