trying to grow 1 big plant with high yield

Hi Guys

i have recently bought a hydro walma kit with flood or drip arrows. i want to grow just 1 big plant to get its maximum yield. i have done a few soil grows and they turned out great. i have 1 northern light seed from royal queen seed bank and plan to get its maximum yield, 400-500g. i have a 250W light in a 2x3ft grow room which i have put reflective sheets around it. i am using ionic hydro grow and bloom nutrients. using clay pebbles and plan to upgrade to a bigger pot (any suggestions on size).

so basicly what im looking to know is... everything.

best arrows to use (flood or drip)
water ph
water cycle

and anything else that i have missed

you wont even get close to that with a 250 watt light

yeah if you get a gram a watt thats only 250 grams and thats if you get everything dialed in great i have heard if i am wrong others will correct me

1 plant is not recomened, your new start with 5, this is a very big patients game. coco is your best bet. still try five, make sure the room is sealed with air in and out.

the first thing i will do is upgrade my light to a 600W. but if i was to grow 2 plants at 600W does this then mean that i would only get 300g per plant?

Like the others said your not going to see the weight you are thinking your going to.

A few tips for you about the wonderful breeder descriptions you read.
1. They may be very accurate and a good representation of the strain.
2. They may have come up with the description from a pheno within that strain that it took thousands of seeds to find.
3. Or as I believe happens in some cases they just lie, they do what they think they need to do to sell their seeds.
Best way to determine what you can expect from a strain is to search for grows of it by people using a setup close to your own.

Im no help with the hydro, gave it up years ago and have not looked back.

As far as the light goes it will work fine its not going to give you a huge yield but you will get a good amount.
It will get your feet wet and its better then starting with CFL's IMO.
One thing im concerned with is that I see no mention of ventilation to get the heat from that 250w out.
Its a low wattage HID setup but is still going to throw off a ton of heat.

For a newb, getting a gram per watt would be a challenge. A 600w in a 2X3 is over kill and wasting the light footprint. I think the max for that space would be a 400w. If you vegged one or two plants for a couple months you might get 400g total with perfect conditions. There are growers on here that hit the gram/watt using trimming techniques, beefy strains, and experience. Good luck man.

Remember the info that you see from breeders, is plants grown in near or lab conditions, by professionals. And by pros, I mean people with letters behind their names, not self proclaimed pros. Not only that, but they have made numerous runs with those strains and have their systems dialed in perfect for them..
And most of the times, if you look close you will see that those weights are for per sq meter and not per plant.
For a beginner your goal should be to just finish the grow with as little glitches as possible and hope to have everything figured out to dial in next grow.
